The Beautiful Red Lodge Country House

All week it had promised to rain and thunder all day on Chris and Freya’s wedding day. In the middle of July this is not what they had planned for their outside wedding at Red Lodge Country House!

Freya embraced it as Saturday came around and the morning started off dark and lashings of rain hit the marquee, knowing that she’d have to learn to dance in the rain.

We showed up fully prepared for a very wet Saturday; spare pants and all! The girls were upstairs getting ready in the ornate and beautifully furnished bridal suite. Freya looked so cheery and already looking super glam with her make up being done, while the other girls were busily banging out tunes and getting their hair done.

We nipped round and got shots of wedding prep and then we went and checked out the stunning bathroom. Honestly, if you haven’t booked in to Red Lodge Country House before - Do it just to go and bask in the bloody gorgeous bathroom - that tub IS HUGE.

The Run Up To The Ceremony

I then headed off downstairs for the boys arrival. Although, a little delayed they were in good spirits and the weather was holding out! We had a good laugh as there was a couple of outfit faux pas going on. With a bit of assistance from the best Best Man (Ben and Bart I’ll let you argue that one out!) we were ready to welcome all the guests.

If I tell you that it choked me seeing so many happy faces don’t judge me. I have never seen such a wave of love. After this pandemic I wondered how everyone would be when they finally came together, it didn’t disappoint. There were hugs, laughter, tears of joy and the party vibes were hitting early.

It was FINALLY time to get Freya and Chris hitched. We were able to go out into the marquee for the ceremony - The music started and the bridesmaids made their way across the lawn. Shortly after, Freya and her dad made their way across the lawn and down the aisle, both smiling brightly! She looked gorgeous and everyone was just as awestruck.

The ceremony began and we were treated to the first kiss outside of the beautiful front doors of Red Lodge with a confetti exit.

After I Do

BBQ food was served, shots were drunk and garden games were played! The sense of togetherness and family was just overwhelming.

We snuck off for a few couple shots and Chris and Freya’s beautiful baby girl Eliza blessed us with a lot of smiles and some truly wonderful family photos that we hope they’ll treasure for years.

Despite forecasts of rain and storms all day, we didn’t see anything but sun and a few fluffy clouds. Shortly after this, the band were ready and it was time for the first dance and then there was lots of dancing! Before we left, Freya announced (a secret she had kept all day) the boys were watching England play in the Euros on a projector. Everyone partied super hard after the match, because our boys had seen us through to the semi finals!

What an awesome day - After a delay due to a deployment, a delay after a bundle of joy and an international pandemic, Chris and Freya finally said I Do.

Sally and Lacey are the best team creating the most amazing wedding photos. They were so friendly, professional and supportive every step of the way (including during covid pandemic) We felt so at ease whilst they took photos and they really captured every moment and guest from our day. We could not recommend them more!
