Matt and Shelley at Glen Lodge

Matt and Shelley had planned their day at the stunning Glen Lodge at Bawburgh Golf Club, all while we were still locked up in lockdown. (Thumbs down Covid)

Beautiful Glen Lodge

The morning was bright and all was looking well for the wedding ceremony outside, or so it seemed! The very helpful staff at Glen Lodge had been keeping an eager eye on the weather. They anticipated that the ceremony might be rained off if they didn’t move it inside. A little sad, but determined not to let it dampen her day, Shelley and her bridal party busily prepped. It was serene and everyone was getting ready.

Lacey headed off to the venue to catch up with Matt and the groomsmen and capture the guests arriving. Meanwhile, Sally stayed with Shelley to capture those very important dress and first look photos. When Lacey arrived at the venue - Very noticeably hung in the dining area were photo garlands of some super incriminating childhood photos of Matt and Shelley! One of the groom not looking too dissimilar to Jay from the Inbetweeners. (I’ll let you lot debate that!)

The boys and the best lady (cool right?) were laughing and joking and had pointed out to Lacey that there was something very unique about Matt’s bow tie! It had been hurriedly purchased after one of the best men misplaced the original! Not only this but two of them were sharing a pocket square! Literally cut in half and divided between them, these lot set the tone for the day.

The guests arrived and whilst being ushered to their seats enjoyed a classical guitarist whilst awaiting the arrival of the bride. Matt and his best man Danny excitedly greeted guests and got everyone seated. The ceremony room in Glen Lodge is stunning, a natural stone wall, with LED lights highlight those high ceilings and the beautiful triangular shaped windows you’ll see in the photos below. Shelley literally glided into the room, she looked breathtaking, super smiley on her dads arm and looking very pleased to see her soon to be husband.

It didn't rain - it poured down!

The venue looked beautiful and was just as lovely as the pavilion outside. Vows were exchanged and kisses were shared! It was time to strut down the aisle. We had just enough time for a couple of photos, confetti shots and a couple of family photos before the heavens absolutely opened. It poured and poured and poured.

Not long after, everyone was seated and it was time for speeches - We will tell you now we haven’t laughed so much in such a long time between childhood anecdotes and the arrival of Harry the stag do stowaway, the room roared with laughter!

We made a quick, crazy dash to the golf course for those all important couples shots. The light was gone quickly but we bagged a gorgeous set of images that we were so excited to show Matt and Shelley. It was time to drive our buggies back to the venue for a well deserved party!

Shelley’s maid of honour and sister Jenna, made the most incredible catch for the bouquet! Seriously, we wish there were sport replays for bouquet tosses, it was killer. It was time to get everyone on the dance floor and the party just flowed! It was so sad when it was time to head home, we had genuinely felt so welcomed and so at home with this lovely lot!

Have a look at some cheeky peeks of Matt and Shelleys fabulous day, with a special thanks to these wonderful suppliers:
