A Peterborough Wedding Venue The Bridgerton’s Would Envy!

It is safe to say that when Simon and Sasha asked us to shoot their wedding at Holmewood Hall, we were VERY excited. All of our Bridgerton-inspired daydreams came true at this beautiful wedding, packed full of surprises and of course, a lot of love! With each thoughtful detail, from Sasha's stunning non-traditional pink dress to the surprise choreographed dances, their day was full of romance, joy, and unexpected delights that kept guests on their toes.

Morning Prep at Holmewood Hall

We started the morning off in Holmewood Hall's beautiful bridal suite, with Sasha, her best friend and her daughter all getting glammed in the prep room. Sally and I quickly noticed that Sasha's wedding dress was not the usual white gown we have grown accustomed to seeing on a wedding day! It was a beautiful, pink-floral Milla Nova! Hands down, our favourite wedding dress of the season (if not), the whole of 2024!

Over in groom prep, Simon and his brother sipped whisky, and toasted to the upcoming ceremony, full of excitement for the day to come. They quickly made their way down the stairs to greet their wonderful guests - some of whom came all the way from Russia to be with Sasha and Simon on their special day at Holmewood.

The Most Beautiful Spring Wedding!

A beaming Simon met Sasha at the top of the aisle, accompanied by her very proud looking father. The love in the air was palpable as the pair smiled and laughed through their wedding vows, sealing the deal with a kiss and a big jump down the aisle from Simon! So glad that he had bagged the girl!

The afternoon was spent enjoying the stunning grounds of Holmewood Hall, and all the family and friends relaxed with drinks, garden games and the warm, welcoming Spring sun. Later, we snuck our newlyweds off for some ridiculously romantic portraits, which were a bloody dream. Sally and I always tell people to enjoy the time alone together whilst we're shooting portraits and forget we're there. Simon and Sasha did exactly that! Their chemistry was off the charts as they strolled through the grounds—kissing, laughing and dancing in the glow of the softly setting sun—as if they had always existed there. A photographer's dream... *insert happy sigh*

It was soon time for food and speeches! Sasha's father shared a beautiful array of anecdotes that had everyone reaching for their tissues. Then her best friend delivered an emotional speech in Russian. Although we didn’t understand her words, the love she conveyed was unmistakable—evident in the tears streaming from both sides of the family.

Simon’s speech was a heartfelt dedication to the woman he adores. He even presented her with a stunning piece of commissioned art depicting their first date—a rainy day in a cozy coffee shop.

Sasha followed with a moving speech of her own, speaking lovingly about her children, the blending of their families, and the joy of finding Simon. She shared how his vibrant character had transformed her life.

Simon's dad and brother finished the speeches with a few hilarious tales from Simon's childhood and their best wishes to the new couple and a warm welcome to their new family.

An Evening of Surprises

If it wasn't already the most WONDERFUL day, we were surprised with a romantic first dance from Simon and Sasha that literally had everyone starry eyed. It was followed by a wicked little outfit change from the bridal party and another choreographed dance they'd learnt as a surprise for Simon. These girls had MOVES!

As Mumfuddensuns played an epic setlist for the guests to enjoy, in the background on the grounds of Holmewood Hall, Dynamic Fireworks set up a surprise firework display for everyone to enjoy. It was a magical end to the evening.

Except that it wasn't the end! That's right! The wedding crew went off to The Vault to be welcomed by a DJ and an open bar, where the party continued late into the night.

We had the most perfect day with Simon and Sasha! As always it was such a pleasure. We loved getting to stay a little later than normally too to get those wicked dance floor shots that they thought were so important.
